Atarikoi Marketing Sdn Bhd was founded by Mr Robert Gan in 1992 out of his passion for raising Japanese koi fishes (nishikigoi) and to share the joy with friends, many of whom are now his long-term customers. Atarikoi in present day is one of the biggest nishikigoi importer in Malaysia with annual import value exceeding RM3 million and distributing over 1 million pieces of fishes all over the country.

Atarikoi fishes are mainly imported from world reknown breeders such as Sakai, Omosako, Dainichi, Hosokai, Izumiya, Momotaro, Matsunosuke, etc. In order to cater for a wide range of hobbyist, it stocks fishes of a wide range of quality. It has fishes to suit any koi keeper. Occasionally, Atarikoi does send fishes out to koi keepers residing in neighboring countries.

Having operated from its original premise in Taman Desa since its inception, in 2008 Atarikoi has established a new branch in Tropicana, Petaling Jaya. There, the fishes are housed in the state-of-art ponds with advanced filteration system.

Today, Atarikoi business is run by Mr Robert Gan’s sons, Mr Andrew Gan and Mr Andy Gan whose knowledge about nishikigoi was imparted by their father since their childhood days. Atarikoi business has never ceased to grow with the ever increasing awareness and appreciation for the beauty of Japanese koi by the general public.

It is the aim of Atarikoi to open more branches in future to cater for customers.
